Cattleman and Cowboy paintings

The Steer Roping Cattleman

I didn’t have any particular reason for painting a cowboy. I just liked the picture I saw in a magazine. My father was a western movie fanatic and I watched a lot of cowboy movies with him. He was a huge John Wayne fan and had a long hobby of collecting photos from old time westerns. His collection was donated to the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma. 24” x 24”

A Kansas Tornado

Nature’s beauty and danger unleashed together, a marriage made on a Kansas wheat field! Tornadoes are common in the Springtime weather in the state where I grew up. I have memories of running for shelter during a severe storm and this is what inspired this picture. Although tornadoes aren’t a fond topic to ponder … they do add a certain curious mystery to everyday life. A much feared piece of weather we could do well without! If someone were ask me if I would like to see one, I would call that a big “NO.” A pretty piece of artwork makes the viewing of this storm much safer. This scene makes the viewer feel alone in a wheat field. Where the two things are you and that crazy unpredictable funnel cloud! How would you like to have some alone time with your own tornado? 20 x 20

I always wanted to paint a deer, so that what I did! Animals are fun to paint, although I haven't made many animal pictures, but I really like the way my deer picture turned out. 8 x 10 painted on hard fiber board
