Bringing Home the Tree Canvas Painting

Being from Kansas, the farmstead homes have a special place in my heart. The endearing Little House on The Prairie stories draw me close to the love of family and home, longing for the simple uncomplicated kind of happiness of the prairie days.

Although I am quite grateful for central air-conditioning in our modem age! I do however admire our brave pioneers of the early days, I don't like to sweat in 90 degree weather 24 hours a day! BUT- I will say this- On paper or canvas, the calming glow of a kerosene lamp in an upstairs window and the mental image of a father going out to the forest to cut down a real Christmas tree for his children is very nostalgic and appealing.

Pioneer living was far from easy, but uncluttered by advancing progress that we live with today.

There will always be a little prairie house somewhere in my heart.
